Surrogates is a 2009 science fiction film, based on the 2005–2006 comic book series of the same name. The film is directed by Jonathan Mostow and stars Bruce Willis. Surrogates was released on September 25, 2009. In March 2007, Disney acquired feature film rights to the 2005–2006 comic book series The Surrogates with the intent to distribute under Touchstone Pictures. The project was conceived by Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks (Handelman's wife who is better known for her acting), and they enlisted producer Todd Lieberman to move it forward. Under Disney, Jonathan Mostow was attached to direct the film based on an adapted screenplay by Michael Ferris and John Brancato. The following November, Bruce Willis was cast to star in the lead role. Surrogates opened to #2 at the box office with approximately $15 million, failing to beat Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in its second weekend.

New to DC... whats good ?
ive been reading mostly only marvel i dont know anything thats going on in dc. i started with ultimate marvel, read everything in it, n then marvel just seemed familiar. i never got around to reading dc.
i started reading batman and its terrific. i mean how can it not be, its the Goddamn Batman
ill get the main story arcs from wkikipedia but whats DC's version of the runaways, x-23, eternals, marvel zombies... and thanos deadpool. whats good thats not batman n superman.
i love the mainstream characters too... spidey iron man x-men daredevil, i also like ultimate marvel, ultimates are awesome....
what are the good characters and where do i start reading... green lantern and flash seem interesting enough. And also those with good art, from '96 '98 onwards.
i appreciate any help in doubling the time i already spend on comic books
I like the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America. Jonah Hex is one of the best books out now.get back issues of 52 and Countdown, good story and they also have two page origin story's of different characters. check out the DC Encyclopedia published by DK Publishing.
