How I can keep my cowboy boots leather well oiled and in good condition?
I wear my boots all the time, more go out dancing every Saturday night. i two step all night, sawdust, plus wearin wear a lot. Can anyone recommend a good way to take care and keep skin in perfect condition. I have a pair of Tony Lamas, and let me tell you they are the best pair of boots that I bought! the most comfortable, and I want to keep for a long time!
Clean, polishing, and air twice a month or as needed, adding years to the life of your boots and keep their good looks original. First, use a soft pencil eraser to remove scuff marks. Clean the seam between the boot upper and sole, and the seams start with an old toothbrush. A sponge and a little tap water reasonably clean boots. Do not use ordinary soap, to dry boots faster and makes them more prone to cracking in the future. If you are very dirty, use a soft bristle brush to remove caked on dirt and mud, then use a damp sponge to remove remaining residue (a small amount of water will not hurt leather). Use soap and water for cleaning saddle better. Be sure to remove all of the chair because soap dries excess and damage leather. Only use leather saddle soap for cleaning. While the boots are still slightly damp after a good cleaning, apply a conditioner leather to replace the natural oils of the leather. Check the ingredients of the conditioner to make sure it contains lanolin. That is the best conditioning. Bring lasts boot maintain its shape. Then let your boots dry cleaned for a day. Then apply a little polish or wax, and buff to a shine. You are now ready for dance floor again!
